An effort is being spearheaded by Jordan Smith (Broadwave Live Cam provider) and Aero Bridge to transport needed supplies to Key West. Jordan is the President of Broadwave, President of Key West Flying Club, a Coast Guard Auxiallry SAR Pilot and an Aerobridge Volunteer Pilot. A message from Smith and the team leading such efforts may be found, below.
The cameras that you were viewing via the BroadwaveLive YouTube Channel are down and we can get them online, only with the emergency supplies that we are staging currently. We have the ability to get them online, and essential medical supplies and personnel delivered, but we need your help. We currently need pilots and planes for the airlift which is being organized out of Lakeland Airport.
We have setup a GoFund Me page at: gofundme.com/irmaflights
These funds will be used solely to put gas into aircraft which will fly under the Aerobridge banner “Compassion Flight.” Thru Aerobridge, the team is are relocating supplies from Austin, TX and staging them in Lakeland, FL. We are also picking up supplies all across the US and getting them ready to distribute to the Florida Keys from our base at Sun N’ Fun at Lakeland, FL. The operational costs of these airplanes are being paid for by the pilots. We are a tight community that is strong and resilient. We will survive, we will rebuild. If you love the Florida Keys, please donate to help us rebuild our community and get the word out.
