The 52nd Bassmaster Classic tournament, widely regarded as the Super Bowl of Bass Fishing, was held on the South Carolina-Georgia border of Lake Hartwell from Friday, March 4th to Sunday, March 6th.
Doug Cox, from Cox Group, traveled down to this year’s Bassmaster Classic tournament. There, Doug took the opportunity to meet up with clients at the Outdoor Trade Show, located in the Greenville Convention Center. Bassmaster sponsors and big names in the fishing industry showed up to participate on the action-packed weekend. Doug reconnected with clients for the year as well as took the opportunity to look for new business and connect with those in the industry.
55 of the world’s best bass anglers came to compete and be in the running to win the one million dollar purse. After the conclusion of this year’s tournament, the event was declared a great success after nearly 155,000 fans showed up to cheer on their favorite fisherman competing. The Greenville Convention Center hosted the Bassmaster Classic Expo, and the Bon Secours Wellness Arena hosted the daily weigh-ins. Oklahoma native, Jason Christie, clenched the $300,000 prize after catching 54 pounds of bass over the 3-day tournament.
